Steve Jobs and Why the iPhone 3G Sucks!

In my last column I pointed out why I’ve decided not to buy the new 3G iPhone. But since then new information has come to light that indicates that the 3G iPhone is ever worse than I thought initially. The 3G iPhone shouldn’t be called the second coming of the Jesus phone; it should be called the first coming of the Satan phone instead.Given all of the hype about the 3G iPhone, some people are bound to be taken in by it and that’s why the alarm needs to be sounded about why this phone just isn’t a good deal and should be avoided by anyone who wants an iPhone.

As I pointed out last week, nothing is free and the “cheaper” price of the iPhone is off-set by a higher data service plan. Basically you’re still paying $400 for your iPhone but you’re paying the other $200 on a monthly payment plan since AT&T has raised the data plan from $20 to $30.

So the 3G iPhone really isn’t cheaper by any means. In fact, it’s more expensive because that extra $10 per month means that you’ve paid an extra $240 at the end of two years! Yes, instead of paying $400 for the phone, you’re now paying $440!

Talk about deception! Shame on AT&T and Apple for trying to sneak that one past savvy consumers.
