Amazon Kindle for Mac Review
Getting Started & Buying Kindle Books
After you’ve installed Kindle for Mac, start the application, login and you’ll be taken to the Home screen (if you don’t already have an Amazon account, you’ll have to register to start one). You can sort what’s listed there by Most Recent, Title or Author.
If you have no books initially but you already own Kindle books, click on Archived Items to begin downloading your existing books to your Mac.
If you don’t own any books click the Shop in Kindle Store and a browser window will open and the Kindle Store will load in it. Don’t worry if this is your first time buying eBooks, the Kindle Store is very easy to use. Books are broken down into the usual categories (fiction, nonfiction, etc.) and there are helpful bestseller lists, exclusives and tons of other ways of finding great books.
Please be aware that you can sample a book first, before actually buying it. The biggest problem with the Kindle Store is that you can go crazy sampling books. I find myself, from time to time, downloading tons of samples that I never manage to get to actually read. But at least it gives customers a chance to get a taste of the book before paying for it.
